WHAT & WHY
deutschLabs.com is an interactive platform for German language learning.
It contains interactive apps, games, ABC lists, quizzes and more.
Since our day (like yours) only has 24h and usually it takes loooooooooooong to create things & features (did you try the very popular Galgenraten apps? It took more than 1000 lines of code to write that app) we don't have apps for each and everything.
Just see for yourself, if you find something, that is of value for you.
We love - among other things :-) - linguistics, programming & UI/UX-design and want to combine these passions within this platform.
It is our goal, to create a fun & easy-to-use educational platform with a playful user interface, that delivers value to you.
Using the platform
The platform is intended to be self-explanatory. We try to make the user interface as simple and intuitive as possible.
Platform navigation language
Currently, the platform navigation language is English, since we do currently not have the resources to make it fully multilingual.
All content related to German language learning is kept in German language for learning purposes.
Recommended web browsers:
Google Chrome on mobile & desktop
Microsoft Edge on desktop (including Swiss German Support)
Whenever you see this loudspeaker symbol on the plaform, a voice output is generated upon button click:
[In-depth: The voice output is currently generated by the so called Web Speech API of the browser and its quality varies considerable between browsers.
If you use the Firefox browser for example, the voice output is of lower quality and less languages are supported.]
We recommend using Google Chrome Browser on mobile & desktop for optimal voice output.
The Microsoft Edge browser also produces high-quality voice output on desktop, while no voice output on mobile is supported.
Learn Swiss German
Then use the Microsoft Edge Browser on desktop.
Why? Because Microsoft Edge (desktop version only) includes a Swiss voice implementation called "Microsoft Leni".
If you use the Microsoft Edge Browser on desktop, you'll see the following loudspeaker symbol throughout the platform, which lets you hear everything in Swiss German:

Feedback
We love feedback. If you have an idea on how to improve the platform or you found a linguistic error or software bug (something does not work as intended), we would love to hear from you. If you like something very much, we are also happy to hear about this, so that we know, that we are on the right track.
You can reach us via the contact page.
